Letter to MEPs- it's time to start!

Dear MEP,

We congratulate you for the work you have done so the Common Goods and Public Services Intergroup has been established. In the past we sent you a letter inviting you to support its creation, we believe the 8th European Parliament term is the ideal moment to move forward on that issue. Since you signed for its creation you know that now is a crucial moment for the commons and we need some time and space for an open debate on definitions, to build a common perspective and agenda.

So it is time to start and use our time and resources to make them a crucial topic for European policies in the 2014- 2019 legislature. As you know at the meeting you had on February 12 two co-Chairs were elected.

Several are the themes we will have to discuss throughout intergroup activities, both on the commons and on their interaction with public services.

This web platform has been the initial force for the creation of the Commons Intergroup. We believe that it is time for synergies and formalizing the links between civil society and the European Institutions. For that we need to develop an agenda together to promote cooperation with civil society organisations and grassroots movements.

We think it's also time to make this Intergroup public, through a big event with wide audience!

We would like to use this letter to express our availability and encourage you for the work so far.
